If you're looking for the perfect blend of small-town charm, vibrant festivities, and stunning scenery this 4th of July, Temecula Valley is the place to be. This hidden gem is not only famous for its award-winning wineries but also for its welcoming community spirit and family fun Independence Day celebrations.

Breakfast in Historic Old Town Temecula

Kick off your 4th of July morning with a hearty breakfast at one of Temecula's charming eateries in Old Town. To really immerse yourself in the history, I recommend dining at one of their historic buildings: 1909, Small Barn, or Swing Inn Cafe. Local tip: Save your spot on the parade route with chairs or a blanket before you dine!

Viewing the Parade

Be sure you’re seated before 10am start time. Bring water and a hat for shade. Enjoy a community parade of marching bands, colorful floats, and plenty of red, white, and blue. This event really shows off our hometown spirit.

Exploring Old Town Temecula

Once the crowd disperses, take time to stroll around discovering treasures in the boutique shops. Try tasting some locally grown and produced flavored olive oils at Temecula Olive Oil Company. Breathe in the calming aroma of lavender at Temecula Lavender Company. Grab treats for the kids (and you!) at Old Town Sweet Shop or The Sugar Spot. Don't miss the Temecula Valley Museum, where you can get a deeper understanding of the area’s rich past, and Pennypickle’s Workshop, where everyone is a kid.

Vino & Vineyard Views

By midday, it's time to embrace the wine country vibes. Choose a trail: Rancho California, Calle Contento, or De Portola. Rancho California wine trail has some of the oldest wineries including Baily, Callaway, and Mount Palomar. Calle Contento is great for panoramic views at Lumiere and Falkner. De Portola also has beautiful views and miles of horse country, try Cougar, Leoness, or Oak Mountain. Be sure to enjoy lunch at one of these wonderful wineries.

Picnics & Entertainment

As the afternoon transitions into evening, the town starts buzzing with 4th of July excitement. Join the locals for entertainment at the Ronald Reagan Sports Park. Spread out a blanket and chairs, grab some dinner from the food trucks, and enjoy live music as you wait for the grand finale. There will be vendors, music, and plenty of fun for the kids.

Fireworks Extravaganza

No 4th of July celebration is complete without fireworks, and Temecula Valley knows how to put on a show! The fireworks here are a spectacular sight, illuminating the night sky. The show begins at 9pm at both Ronald Reagan Sports Park and Pechanga Resort Casino

Stay the Night

Now it’s time to head back to your room at any of our family-friendly hotels, including Hilton Garden Inn, Home2 Suites, Hampton Inn, and Embassy Suites, where you’re just minutes from everything there is to do.

So pack your bags, bring your patriotic spirit, and get ready to toast to freedom in one of California's most patriotic destinations. Happy travels and Happy 4th of July!
