Visit Temecula Valley (VTV) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Temecula Chilled Holiday Decorating Contest, an annual event designed to encourage local businesses to create a fun and festive atmosphere for visitors and residents. Judging took place in three categories: Best Decorated Old Town Business, Best Decorated Winery, and Best Decorated Tree in a Hotel. Seven local businesses were awarded for creating show-stopping holiday displays.
“We’re incredibly inspired by the enthusiasm, joy, and creativity reflected in all of the entries,” said Scott A. Wilson, CEO of Visit Temecula Valley. “We welcome everyone to use our Temecula Chilled map to see all of the beautiful displays. Congratulations to all the winners!”
In the Best Decorated Old Town Business category, First Place ($500) went to 1909 Restaurant for its over-the-top décor, dazzling lights, and spirited atmosphere. Second Place ($300) went to Public House for its colorful winter wonderland display. Devilicious Eatery and its Apparition Room took third place ($100) for its kitschy, festive décor. Prizes are provided by Visit Temecula Valley and Old Town Temecula Association.
In the Best Decorated Tree in a Hotel category, Temecula Creek Inn was the winner for its warm, welcoming holiday decor. In the Best Decorated Winery category, Europa Village ($500) wowed the judges with its magical holiday atmosphere and stunning holiday displays. Second Place ($300) went to South Coast Winery Resort & Spa and Third Place ($200) was awarded to Wiens Cellars, who worked with Breathe Visual Creations. Prizes for this category were provided by Visit Temecula Valley and the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association.
This year, the entrees were judged on a volunteer basis by five California destinations: Visit Greater Palm Springs, Visit Oceanside, Visit San Diego, Visit Santa Cruz, and Visit Yosemite Mariposa County. In addition, a group of digital media influencers voted for their top choices during a recent tour of Old Town.
