Geography

Geographically positioned in the southwest corner of Riverside County, Temecula Valley is viewed as a bedroom community of San Diego since it attracts more residents from San Diego County than anywhere else.

Temecula has twice been named "The Best City in Riverside County to live in" by The Press-Enterprise for its superior quality of life. Sound management along with tax revenues generated by the many shopping opportunities and surrounding stores have made it possible for the city to provide its citizens with a solid infrastructure, low crime rate, clean air, and an abundance of cultural and recreational programs. Temecula is located 33.50 degrees north of the equator and 117.12 degrees west of the prime meridian. Temecula elevation ranges from approximately 1,175 to 2,600 feet.

Getting to Temecula is easy. Temecula is located off the 1-15 freeway approximately 60 minutes north of San Diego and 90 minutes south of Los Angeles. Surrounded by four major airports in San Diego, Los Angeles, Ontario, and Orange County, as well as two local airfields, Temecula is never more than an hour and ½ driving distance by car or shuttle.

From San Diego: Take I-15 north, 1 hour
From Orange County: Take Hwy. 91 east to I-15 south, 1 hour
From Los Angeles: Take Hwy. 60 or I-10 to I-15 south, 1 hour, 30 min.
From Palm Springs: Take 1-10 west to Hwy. 60 west to I-215 south, 1 hour, 10 min.
