Holiday guests enjoy a winter-inspired celebratory Christmas meal at South Coast Winery’s The Vineyard Rose Restaurant – prepared by Executive Chef José Esparza and his culinary team – served in a lovely dining room surrounded by vineyard views. Diners may start with Chilled Shrimp Cocktail; Roasted Brussels Sprouts with pancetta, Granny Smith apples, sunny side up egg and apple cider; or other Openers. Soup and Salad options include The Vineyard Rose Salad composed of field greens, cucumbers, roasted grapes, dried cranberries, local chèvre, candied pecans and white balsamic vinaigrette; Coast Caesar Salad; and Butternut Squash Bisque. Many of the Entrees are gluten free, including Grilled Filet Mignon with confit potatoes, wild mushrooms, asparagus, red wine reduction; Roasted Jidori Chicken Breast with pommes puree, heirloom carrots, peas, cipollini onion, celery ribbons, natural jus; and Skuna Bay Salmon. Also, Lobster Ravioli, Angus Prime Rib and Slow Roasted Turkey Breast are on the menu. For the sweet and tempting finale of this feast, Triple Chocolate Cake, Gingerbread Pudding with Vanilla Custard Sauce and fresh berries, South Coast Riesling Bread Pudding with vanilla ice cream and vineyard trail mix are some of the Dessert choices.
