Unexpected Outdoor Spaces for Business Meetings & Hotel Packages

Thursday, February 21, 2019 5:00 PM by Annette Brown

Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country is sparking new life in the meetings industry with creative and inspiring outdoor meeting spaces for groups of all sizes. Ties loosen at this nearly year-round sunny destination that offers several scenic unconventional spaces for outdoor gatherings. Temecula Valley is an ideal meetings destination, conveniently located in the center of southern California, with all major airports and cities just about an hour away.

Poolside Meetings & Receptions

Meeting planners can make a splash at a poolside venue under the golden sun. Craft cocktails and local wines pair well with agendas and bullet points. Several Temecula Valley wineries and resorts offer just what a meeting needs for a refreshing approach. Recently opened, BOTTAIA Winery includes The Pool at BOTTAIA, a nod to Mediterranean beach clubs. Unparalleled vineyard vistas, private cabines, and a Pool Café + Cocktail Bar provides an immersive poolside experience. Carter Estate Winery Resort includes a lovely pool area with The Vineyard Grill for a “cool” wine country meeting where attendees deep dive into relevant topics. Pechanga Resort Casino’s 4.5 acres pool complex is perfect for large groups, complete with cabanas, umbrellas and couch seating. Adjacent to the pool complex is a 26-thousand square foot lawn space that can host everything from boot camps to group meetings to breakout sessions and receptions. Embassy Suites has been a popular site for poolside meetings and receptions over the years with their junior Olympic size pool and plenty of function space, in addition to a lower patio for a pondside setting.

Fireside Chats & Roundtables

A fireside chat under the stars is a great way to stimulate interaction. Casual, unintimidating settings open conversations and feedback. Meeting goers warm up in this natural setting offered at several Temecula Valley locations. Ponte Winery’s Reserve Room Veranda is a meeting and event space with a firepit for everyone to cozy around surrounded by acres of vineyards. Temecula Creek Inn has two compelling fireside locations, Cork|Fire Kitchen patio with views of the golf greens and Fireside Patio in the meeting area under the stars with strings of lights draped overhead. BOTTAIA Winery welcomes meetings and mingling with wine and charcuterie at their attractive outdoor firepit. Pechanga Resort Casino’s pool complex invites groups to gather with several fireside locations to choose from that include couches and comfortable outdoor seating. Pechanga’s Journey’s End restaurant also offers fire pits on the patio with gorgeous golf course views. For cooler evenings, a grand indoor firepit is another option.

Breathtaking Garden Spaces

Most visitors take in the stunning vineyard views, but few are aware of the beautiful and fragrant gardens at the wineries, resorts and in the city. Rose Haven Heritage Garden is home to more than 1,600 roses, including hybrid teas, floribundas, climbers, and mini roses. The garden is picture perfect when the blooms arrive in early spring. Attendees can walk the trails during break times or relax in the hilltop gazebo. Picnic table seating is available, or the area can be customized as needed. Mount Palomar Winery’s hilltop level is known for its panoramic vineyard views, roses, Italian inspired fountains, columns and statues. Vitagliano Winery’s pond is surrounded by colorful pansies, delphinium and other aromatic blossoms. California Pepper and Eucalyptus trees tower over walkways, bridges and a tasting room. Emily’s Garden at Carter Estate Winery Resort provides vegetables and herbs for the restaurant chef, as well as a charming gazebo centerpiece with vineyard rows in every direction. Pechanga Resort Casino’s roof top garden on the fourth floor is home to indigenous plants and Native-inspired cultural installations. This is a memorable setting for meetings, sunset receptions, sunrise yoga, and boot camps.
