Temecula, CA March 17, 2014 - On Saturday May 3rd, join Grammy nominated and award winning artists as they set the rhythm for a weekend of relaxation and good times at Vail Lake Resort. The 10th Annual Temecula Wine & Music Festival brought to you by KMYT 94.5 and produced by Apaulo Music Productions will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County, a local non-profit charity.
Enjoy talented musicians performing everything from jazz to R&B. Vail Lake Resort is conveniently located 10 miles east from the 15 freeway and 5 miles from Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula.
This year's artists include Grammy nominated R&B and Jazz vocalist Chante Moore, songwriter, producer and recording artist Ray Parker, Jr., singer/songwriter, musician John Gibson, contemporary jazz band Tizer Group featuring Lao Tizer, Karen Briggs & Cheili Munuchi, Grammy winning guitarist Paul Brown, Festival Producer and World-Renowned Saxophonist Michael Paulo, Grammy and Emmy nominee Greg Adams, guitarist and vocalist Steve Oliver, Japanese Saxaphonist Kanzaki, Hawaii's Piano Legend Rene Paulo, award-winning jazz vocalist Mon David, British-American pop rock band Billy Deen and The Rebels, and popular 80's band Abrakadabra.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Grammy Nominated R&B and Jazz vocalist Chante Moore has garnered several hit songs such as Chante's Got A Man, Love's Taken Over and Straight Up, Old School Lovin and more. She also had a hit with her remake of the R&B Jazz classic Free originally made famous by Deniece Williams. Her sweet and sensuous vocal style and range is reminiscent of the late Minnie Riperton. In 2000, Moore earned a Soul Train Music Awards nomination alongside Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey for Single of the Year, Female for her Billboard #2 R&B and #10 Pop hit "Chanté's Got a Man." In 2002, she won a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Single, Group, Band or Duo for "Contagious" featuring The Isley Brothers. She also appeared on the hit UPN show Girlfriends, singing Minnie Riperton's "Lovin' You." Also that year, Moore sang on Kenny G's single "One More Time," which registered on the Smooth Jazz and adult contemporary singles charts. This is her debut performance at our festival this year.
Ray Parker, Jr.
Songwriter, producer and recording artist Ray Parker, Jr. is best known for writing and performing the theme song to the motion picture Ghostbusters, for his solo hits, and performing with his band Raydio, and Barry White. He has recorded and penned numerous hit songs such as Jack and Jill, A woman Needs Love, You Can't change that, Mr Telephone Man, The Other Woman, and many more, He also had instrumental hits such as After Midnight and Mismaloya Beach.
During his peak in the 70 and 80's Parker also wrote songs and did session work for The Carpenters, Rufus and Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Deniece Williams, Jean-Luc Ponty, Leon Haywood, Temptations, The Spinners, Boz Scaggs, David Foster, Rhythm Heritage, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Honey Cone, Herbie Hancock, Tina Turner, and Diana Ross.
His guitar playing and songs are a part of American Music History and in celebration of his stature within the industry he was recently awarded his own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We are happy and honored to have him return to our festival this year.

His number one hits songs include On the Run , Change of Heart and Jesus Loves you. Jon Gibson will be one of our featured vocalist at our event this year. Many have compared his songwriting and vocal style to that of the great Stevie Wonder. As a veteran in the music scene he never disappoints the crowd . He has had his biggest success as a Christian artist and his latest release StoryTeller brings him back full circle in a career that has spanned over 3 decades.
Tizer Group featuring Lao Tizer, Karen Briggs & Cheili Munuchi
Driven by an explosive mix of jazz, rock, classical , jam band influences and Afro Cuban and world rhythms TIZER, is a multi-cultural band led keyboardist/composer Lao Tizer-Establishing themselves in the contemporary jazz world over the past few years, TIZER has spurred comparisons of a modern twist to the 70s and early 80s heyday of jazz fusion, when trailblazing ensembles like Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Weather Report set the aesthetic standard. Two time Grammy Award winning jazz producer, engineer, and guitarist Paul Brown started off as a sound engineer at the age of 15 and has since expanded his career into producing hit jazz albums, such as Boney James' Trust in 1992, and releasing four of his own albums since his debut release Up Front in 2004. The 2011 Canadian Smooth Jazz "Best Vocalist" Nominee currently has over 40 #1 hits on the Radio & Records smooth jazz chart, and is considered to be the genre's top producer. Called quot;Baby Face of Smooth Jazz', Brown has had a career spanning over two decades working with well established smooth jazz artists like George Benson, Jeffrey Osborne, and Kirk Whahlum.
Festival producer and host Michael Paulo is a multi-talented artist with ten solo records to date. His most recent outing features talented arranging of Pianist David Benoit along with a 40 piece symphony orchestra. With over 3 decades of experience in the music business Michael is not only a talented saxophonist but also is involved with producing the Pacific Rim Jazz Festival, the popular and numerous Smooth Jazz concerts in California and Hawaii from where he hails. It is through his numerous relationships that the festival is able to bring in such world-class talent. He is also an artist in residence at the world famous Jakarta International Jazz Festival. Michael currently resides in Temecula Valley.
The sound of Greg Adams is one of the world's best-known musical signatures. In a musical travelogue that has earned him both Grammy® and Emmy nominations, and an International Broadcasting Award from The Hollywood Radio and Television Society. In sync with an ever evolving musical landscape and a life's work that has included success as an arranger, songwriter, producer and performer, taking him on worldwide tours and contributing to some of the most important recordings in pop culture. Greg has arranged, performed and recorded with countless artists as diverse as his career, including The Eurythmics, Rod Stewart, Lyle Lovett, Heart, Linda Ronstadt, Luther Vandross, Aaron Neville, The Brothers Johnson, Phish, Little Feat, Wilson Pickett, Huey Lewis and the News, Raphael Saadiq, Al Green, Quincy Jones, B.B. King, Everclear, Chicago, Bonnie Raitt, Dionne Warwick, Ray Charles, Peter Frampton, Billy Preston, Terrence Trent Darby, Josh Groban Madonna, The Rolling Stones and Celine Dion. Adams is a founding member of Tower Of Power, legendary for the horn arrangements that made the TOP horn section a sought out entity all its own. Greg has played on over five hundred recordings. You've heard Greg's collaboration with Paul Shaffer on the opening theme of Late Show With David Letterman and on score arrangements in such films as, Duets, Mask, Top Gun, Saving Silverman, Austin Powers In Goldmember with Smashmouth. A deep commitment to music education and the art of jazz and contemporary music is realized through his continued involvement in education in our public schools, and colleges through seminars, clinics, performances and development of new artists. Greg strongly believes in music programs at all levels of education.
More than a decade ago, guitarist and vocalist Steve Oliver burst onto the contemporary jazz scene with a sound so fresh, so positive, so bright, that he immediately became a favorite on radio stations with songs like "West End" and "Highway One." The Weather Channel loved his music so much it put "Right Direction" into heavy rotation during its local weather breaks. Smooth Jazz News magazine named Oliver its Debut Artist of the Year. His ensuing hits "Chips and Salsa" and "High Noon" have become crowd favorites at his concerts.
Now, after four studio CDs, a Christmas project and a CD that captured his infectious live-on-stage energy, he plays guitar, scats and sings and is a virtuoso of the synth guitar. Steve Oliver's Style is unmatched in the smooth jazz world. His Latest Record Global Kiss featured two number one hits. Steve has travelled the world and thrilled audiences with his animated performances and will be returning to this year's festival, He has a new project in the works entitled "The Best so Far" slated for a summer release.
This Japanese Saxophonist is highly respected and a legendary musician in Japan. He is making his 5th appearance at the festival and has always been a crowd favorite. He travels from Japan to appear at the festival.
Hawaii's Piano legend was a child prodigy at the age of 4 . He was the youngest featured soloist ever to perform with the Honolulu Symphony at age 12. After studying at the prestigious Julliard school of music
he went on to lead his own band, record several solo records during the last 5 decades and garnering numerous hit records in Hawaii. Enjoying a long and illustrious career Rene has been awarded numerous lifetime achievement awards as a performer. At age 82 he is still going strong and always receives standing ovations at his live performances.
Mon David (vocals and guitar) is an award-winning United States based Filipino-American jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, musician, poet and visual artist. In 2006, he won the London International Jazz Vocal Competition, Europe's version of The Thelonious Monk International Jazz competition. The highly skilled singer's tremendous knowledge of the many forms of jazz inspired music critic Roger Crane (Intn'l Review of Music) to write, "David can swing you into bad health and then turn around and break your heart with a ballad." Mon has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Filipino-American International Jazz Festival, Jakarta Jazz, The Merc (Temecula), The Jazz Bakery, Catalina Jazz BarFord Amphitheater, Yoshi's, and many other jazz venues and festivals. He has also performed with living legends and the popular contemporary jazz musicians such as David Benoit, Eric Marienthal, Tina May, Lee Gibson, Bobby Enriguez, Boney James, Peter White, Michael Paulo, Theo Saunders, Tateng Katindig, among others. His latest CD;s are Coming True by Freeham Records and Solomon by Orange Room Records.
Billy Deen and The Rebels
Billy Dean and The Rebels is a British-American pop rock band. The band has opened for many major national acts such as Sum 41, Foo Fighters and Cheap Trick, to name a few. Toured across the US and internationally hitting Canada, and South Africa where they performed at Woodstock SA to crowds of 50,000. The band can be described as a cross between Imagine Dragons and One Republic. The video for their song "With You" has a 1.3 million views independently on YouTube. Their latest single "All One Tonight", received rave reviews from music critics and is currently being spun on radio stations worldwide.
It may seem like déjà vu from the 80's, but much to the delight of their fans, Abrakadabra's founding musicians reunited in 2006 to perform and record once again. Well known in California's South Bay communities for its driving propulsive Latin jazz/pop rhythms, this band boasts a library of 50+ original compositions. In the tradition of War and Malo, Abrakadabra always looks forward to sharing its special brand of musical magic.
