This is a Temecula Chilled evening which means snow will fall from City hall during Snowbell Rockin' Nights, and from Main Street as Santa makes his procession up and down Main Street. Geoffrey Gaier will emcee the evening. Balloon creations will be provided by the giant Elf Dynamite Dave and Elfin Peggy will offer face painting for children.

At 6:30 p.m. the show choir group Resonate will perform on the steps of City Hall and usher in the first Snowbell Rockin' Night snow fall and musical light show at 7 p.m. Snowbell Rockin' Nights occurs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7 and 8 p.m., plus Sundays at 7 p.m. through January 4, 2015.

Santa will listen to children's wishes every Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. through December 21. Free reindeer antlers are offered to all kids who visit with Santa while supplies last. The Tahquitz District Boy Scouts will take souvenir photos for a donation and help Santa in his new cabin.

Pennypickle's Workshop/Temecula Children's Museum, offers unique holiday themed activities throughout the season. By far the most popular event of Winterfest is Winter Wonderland with tons of snow and fun on Friday, December 12 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Pennypickle's. This is also the grand opening of Old Town's seasonal ice rink, "Temecula On Ice," at Town Square. The 3,500 square foot ice rink has hourly sessions and group programs. Check the website www.temeculaevents.org for times, prices and more information. It is open daily through January 4, 2015.

Temecula's Town Square is also the scene of a giant New Year's Eve Family Friend Bash. Forget about Times Square this New Year's Eve and join your neighbors at Temecula's newest tradition with the Grape Drop Countdown at City Hall. The celebration offers dancing to the bands: Entouraj, Emcee Eric Cahill, Resonate Show Choir, Safety Orange and Valley Winds. This is a family friendly event with a party jump, Dynamite Dave, face painting, family games, and a magician. Usher in the new year as a giant illuminated bunch of grapes descend from city hall with an East Coast (9 p.m.) and midnight countdown. All activities at Temecula Town Square are free except the ice rink which will remain open until 1:30 a.m. New Year's Day. See www.temeculaevents.org for more information or call (951) 678-1456.
